Tool # 11

I think I will enjoy utilizing the Google doc more to share with the teachers and counselors information regarding a student completion of their night school class and attendance information.  I also had fun creating the comix and the video using them to provide a information regarding the night school enrollment process and opportunities.

I have learned that there are many resources that can be utilized to put out information regarding the night school program and the steps to take to get enrolled.  Yes, I found that there are so many resources that can be used to make things I do a little easier.  Work smarter not harder.

Tool #10

Students need to be responsible for their actions when utilizing technology just as they should in the normal classroom.  Students need to use the correct cyber language.  Students should also be aware of the sites they are accessing when using technology.  I enjoyed viewing the Atomic Learning site. The site provides technology and integrated training.  Sections provide pre-test to identify the gap in technology.  It introduces skill based projects to help target those gaps.  There is a final exam to determine the tech literacy level after the gaps were identified and targeted through different projects.  This site is useful for teachers and students.

Incorporating technology to the objective allows student to expand their academic capabilities.  Technology is the future; therefore, students should be challenged to think outside the box.  They should enhance their learning skills utilizing technology to gain the knowledge in all subject areas.
Holding students accountable for their centers/stations teaches them to have a sense of responsibility for their work.  As students progress through the different activities a teacher has introduced and to show they are meeting the basic skills or more students can complete a small assignment prior to moving on to the next activity.

Tool #8

I reviewed the information regarding all of the new devices that will be available for students to utilize as a learning device in the classroom.  I like the fact that the teachers will be the manager as to what content is on the devices.  I am assuming students will not have the capabilities to download anything to the devices.  This is a process completed by the teachers.  I also think that teachers will enjoy the fact that they can download directly from the device without having to sync the device to their laptops.  Regarding class room management, I find it to be a great idea to establish some classroom rules when using these devices as far as the proper handling and usage.  I feel it is necessary to have only one person per class period that is responsible for removing the devices for use during class time. It will be interesting.

Tool #7

I viewed a few of the sites but I really enjoyed Education World.  Here it provided a parent with information regarding the principal, as well as the Principal's goals.  It provided information to the parent about the assignments for that day during class.  There is section that covers problem solving for different issues.  One in particular is parent issues.  There is also classroom management tips for teachers to review.  This site provides information for teachers, parents, students, and office staff.  This is a great tool.

Tool #6

I viewed the following two sites, Cover it Live and Today's Meet.  Cover it Live can be used as an informative tool for counselors to have their students that want to take night school view to get answers to questions that they may have regarding night school.  This will eliminate counselors repeating themselves as they speak with students.  Counselors can have so many students come in each day at a specific time to view the Cover it Live video.

I also viewed Today's Meet which I can see this tool being utilized by having student log in at a specific time during each day after they have been enrolled to check in with the night school support staff.  At that time they will find out what time they will need to be there for their class as well as obtaining directions to the campus if needed.  Students can also receive their class room information as to where they need to go once they enter the building.  If they have not completed their enrollment form such as initialling next to each requirement as requested they will be informed to report to the office prior to attending their class.  Having the students meet using this tool allows the office to get them checked in and forward their information to the correct teacher.

I used comix.com and GoAnimate to give information regarding the enrollment process for night school.
